Kaylan Lemon is a mixed media artist whose work explores the power of vulnerability and connection. They aim to create art that does not hide behind shame, but stands boldly in view to encourage vulnerability and freedom of expression. Kaylan does this through a variety of mediums and most recently has been working with found and recycled materials. Kaylan is currently developing and running an art program for elementary-aged children in Washington, D.C. called, “art is lit.”. This program focuses on the use of visual art as a means toward literacy understanding and achievement through critical and creative thinking. Kaylan currently lives and works in Washington, D.C.
